How to Delete Claimants, Claims, and/or Billable Items

Modified on Mon, 10 Feb at 3:46 PM

Oops. I did it again. How do I delete this duplicate Claimant?

Here's how:

Subscriber Users may now delete the following records in Simplexam:

1. Delete a Billable Item

A Billable Item (Appointment) that has not had any service request such as Mail on Demand, Bill on Demand, email, or any vendor services requests such as history, record summarization, or transcription. If a service requests exists, deleting the Billable Item will not be allowed. We recommend users change the Examination Status to 'Appointment cancelled - no bill' which will remove that billable item from all reports and workflows.

2. Delete a Claim (and all related Billable Items)

A Claim that does not have any Billable Items with existing service requests (see above). When you delete a Claim, all the Billable Items that are related to that Claim will also be deleted.

3. Delete a Claimant (and all related Claims and Billable Items)

A Claimant that does not have any Claims with related Billable Items that have existing service requests (see above). When you delete a Claimant, all the Claims that are related to that Claimant will be deleted, as will all the Billable Items related to the deleted Claims.

How to Delete a Claimant, Claim, or Billable Item:

1. Search for a Claimant in the Claimant search at the top left of the screen or navigate to the 'Claimants' page under the Analytics section in the left side bar.

2. Identify the claimant you wish to delete.

3. If the claimant has no active claims, click the 'Delete' button.

4. If the claimant has claims, check if the claims have associated billable items.

   - If no service request exists, you may proceed with deletion.

5. To delete an entire claimant record, click 'Delete' at the claimant level.

6. To delete a specific claim without removing the claimant, click 'Delete' on the claim.

7. To delete a billable item, navigate to the billable item within a claim and click 'Delete'.

8. Confirm the deletion when prompted. Note that this action cannot be undone.

9. If you do not have deletion permissions, contact the account owner to request removal.
